with a commitment to quality
David Benn Fine Jewellery draws on a long-standing tradition of fine craftsmanship. The business opened its doors in Sydney in 1909 as Arthur C Easy & Son. Its reputation for friendly service and a commitment to quality drew generation after generation of customers from the inner-city and surrounding farming community.
The art of celebration
When David Benn was offered the business in 2001, it felt serendipitous. The personal nature of the business struck a chord. From his farming heritage, David fell into the booming pearl industry in the 90s. Fast paced and full of colourful characters, it emulated the pirate lifestyle he’d dreamt of as a child. (Well, almost…)
This happy accident translated to a lifelong love of jewellery. Opening up shop seemed a logical next adventure. With the birth of his first son, he renamed his studio David Benn Fine Jewellery, celebrating the intrinsic connection of jewellery and family.
David is a highly qualified gemmologist, diamond grader and valuer. He was awarded the Sutherland Medal for Diamond Technology as well as the National Council of Jewellery Valuers’ Award for Excellence. His long-standing contacts and extensive experience within the jewellery industry are well met with designer Annabelle Finlayson’s fine artistry and contemporary design aesthetic.
Whilst the studio has now expanded to service higher demand, David remains committed to a personalised approach, promising superior craftsmanship to his rural and urban customers. Providing professional, friendly service is his pleasure.
After all, jewellery is a fabulous business to be in. It’s all about celebration.
